The area surrounding Lamourache is very diverse and boasts many pleasant walks.
Slightly further afield there are many places to visit including museum,chateaux,fresh water lakes and water parks.The children will really enjoy a visit to the “Wallabi” leisure park with rides,water play areas, roller coasters,bars and restaurants,fun for young and old !!!
There is karting ,horseriding,canoeing and organised boat trips a short drive away.
There are several good golf courses where guests can play a round at reasonable cost.
Antique fairs are held in the surrounding villages at regular intervals.
Pleasure flights can be arranged in light aircraft from the flying club at Marmande.
There are several very good lakes and ponds nearby where course fishing is available
The medieval towns of Eymet and Allermans boast many architectural features, pretty riverside walks, restaurants,bars and water pursuits. Allermans hosts boules matches, playing most days and evenings alongside the local hotel and restaurant. Eymet hosts many activities in the summer months which may include the “American Soiree” where the historic town centre is taken over by American cars,trucks,stage coaches and cowboys and Indians ! There is a hoe down ,food ,drink and entertainment in the grounds of the historic chateau.
There are many vantage points in the area where you can just sit and enjoy the magnificent views or perhaps sketch or paint what you see.
The medieval towns of Monpazier and Sarlat are worth a visit ,steeped in history, they boast beautiful scenery,architecture and a wealth of quaint walkways and individual and interesting shoppes.
There are guide books,maps and “things to do and see” leaflets available in the Gites which are updated regularly.
